Our Story
For over 25 years Loft have proudly been helping families build better spaces for better living, to add value, generate income, enable multi-generational living and work from home flexibility.
We design, consent, and build custom minor dwellings, small / second homes, multi use buildings and we convert / extend and renovate outdated spaces to improve functionality of existing properties to help keep families close together.
We’re a small close-knit team which is reflected through our process.
We work with our clients to understand them and how they want to live, before designing their solution for the additional space they need.
Our mission is to provide our customers with customised building solutions to suit their budget, with total transparency and a level of service that exceeds expectations.
We offer financially viable building solutions to create extra space and deliver our customers the best value. Unlike many other builders we don’t need to subdivide existing properties to create additional living spaces.
We work with our clients to build new spaces now with their current resources, but with the forward planning to help them maximise their future potential.
Our process factors in total project budgets - not just build costs, so our clients understand the end to end costs and there are no hidden surprises.

Ralph Hill
Managing Director
Ralph’s passion to design and manage the construction of his own homes from an early age led to his eventual ownership and development of Loft Homes and Garages (and sister company Build Smart Group Ltd) for the last 15 years.
Having spent several years managing refurbishment projects at retirement villages, Ralph decided there had to be a better way to help families stay close, and hold onto hard earned wealth.. This was the initial catalyst for why we do what we do.
Ralph has a broad range of business ownership (across several industries) and significant project management experience now spanning 35+ years. He has a customer centric approach and desire to go above and beyond to achieve the best outcomes for all clients and their extended families.
Loft Homes and Garages is owned and led by Ralph Hill who has extensive business ownership and project management experience.
